Ugh, hog rings... Guess that means pulling the leather cover off. I hate hog rings.

The seat back heater, does it have its own connector to the harness instead of from the seat bottom heater? My old Volvo had one connection for seat-back and bottom.

As far as I can remember it is a seperate connector. You might be able to cut off the offending hog ring(s) and maybe use a plastic zip tie instead. I replaced the pad on mine but I would definitely check the hog rings first if I was to do it again.

Thx, yeah I just cut all the f'ing hog rings on the Volvo seat cover and replaced em with little zip ties.

Seems the heating element is no longer available... maybe I can swap the passenger side parts if they work.

I just used a generic EPay heating pad and fitted the OE thermistor. You might be good just getting rid of the hog rings, at least for the seat bottom part, back rest could be different story.
