My friend, Kindly see post 13 onwards and you will see that it fits and my honest thoughts on it!
It's something I wanted to find out and I did.
On to something else, like mirrors, headlight under trim, rear reflectors and a rear diffuser to complement the existing 4.8is one.

this is how my rear lights are now I just modded the inners and added a sidelight

You added a sidelight in the fog lights position.
The photo is misleading, since it's white light and not red. Great mod, I also did that back in 2005.

I've not done nothing to the colour think that's just how the pictures turned out , all I did really was swap the single filament holder for a twin filament then wired the sidelight via a relay.
