Ok fella fair point will try to source the part to have handy, from what i recall i never touched the actuator/door lock when doing the door handle carrier fix, and the issue started to manifest a couple of months after on and off so does make you think if you have done something wrong.....i just did the st.steel zip tie fix on the thing and put it back in, tore the moisture barrier but sorted that out with aluminum tape , and as I said the cable gave me a bit of grief but that was user errror.....and slooowly the drives side sometimes locked sometime didnt....

Definitely a bad DLA. I went through several junkyard driver-door parts that were all bad and ended up paying for a new BMW part.

The AWR-fix is an option but I at least do not have the tools nor patience for that kind of surgery.

Hi omodos, sorry I didn't answer this earlier. All good here. Mostly... I have a driver's door look that is a little like your lock - very occasionally is slow to unlock or doesn't unlock at all. I see another job in my future...

Had the typical starter motor issue a few weeks back - more fun. ;)

Hahaha Wpoll, i am gonna have to bite bullet and go to stealer, as there is no way I can do the surgery on existing and have car on the road in one day especially as I may source wrong bits and or not manage to open close the actuator....feel like a total knooob having to dish out over 200euros for 2 small motors

For a novice like me is any way to test old parts without having to do take apart current setup?

9v battery and hitting the right pins to move the motors.

Determine which pins by throwing the lock. I'm betting somebody made a YouTube video.

cheers, a cool 274 USD from bmw , not in stock either needs to be ordered, alternative is to source a used one and IF it works see how long it lasts, I wish I could remove and be without car for a few days and be in a position to know for sure i can find the correct motors but all this polarity business take out the brushes from a new motor stick in old one with the shaft etc is going over my head as will take me forever

The RH drive actuator could be useful if someone with a normal (LH ;) vehicle wants add a lock cylinder on the passenger side. I actually bought a used LH one off E-Bay to do that with mine but never got around to it.
