On N62 the intake air temp sensor is integrated in MAF. In the diagram A_TANS signal. Showing small NTC resistor in the MAF housing working as a temp sensor.

Thanks for the reply guys. I am going to clean the MAF to see if it resolve my issue.

Here you can see the small NTC resistor which is the temp sensor on MAF. You can even measure the resistance of that component which should be some kOhms depending on temperature.

I think you have to purchase the entire MAF to get that part.

BTW, I cleaned the MAF and I am still getting a misfire. P0300, P0306, P0303.

I don't think this is correct - this is the intake sensor for the M54 engine (on the 3.0i), and this part is NLA - superceded by a new part - 13629899008.

Wayne, that is interesting that it changes up, any idea when the change up came out or why. Maybe something to do with tip-in fuel....Maybe ;)

From RealOEM...

13629899008 Intake air temperature sensor
From:03/23/2020 To:-

Supersedes:
13621739510 (09/01/1994 — 12/22/2020)

My guess is they changed the part number as the original part was NLA from the OEM source. The new part is likely to be functionally identical - I very much doubt BMW were still developing the M54 in 2020!! ;)

This sensor is used in a multitude of BMW vehicles (including my BMW F650GS Dakar motorcycle!) - but not in the N62 V8.

Yeah, BMW likes to keep the sensors the same as much as they can, was it you that said your motorcycle uses the same coolant temp sensor as well ?

Yep, it does, and yep, that sounds like something I would have said. ;)

Looks like it would also be possible to confirm the connection from the thermistor to the pins on the MAF, checking for continuity etc.
