A Creator C310 works great on X5s. I kept one in the glove box. I gave it to my sister after she bought an X1. A FoxWell Pro is my go to tool now.

OK, new issue... seems like it's never ending. Began to hear a strange whine that followed engine speed.. ended up being the clutch fan leaking a gray sticky fluid out of it... New one ordered. Keep getting the intermittent "Coolant Level" message.. but now.... wait for it... the coolant temperature sensor "O" ring is leaking just slightly... so I have one of those on the way... Sheeze!!!

Foxwell NT-510 or the bigger, fancier NT-730(?)

Not all foxwell models are able to talk to all the older modules, etc.

710 or 510. Don’t know what 730 is. 710 is what I use now. Best because built in WiFi for update and works with new cars.

Coolant sensor o-ring leak can be stopped with a couple wraps of Teflon[emoji769] tape

Search forum for "cooling overhaul" and use only quality parts before you regret...

andrewwynn 03-22-2026 09:40 AM

I just did that on my n55 motor and don't regret at all (even though it was something like 13 coolant lines and 4 power steering lines: (one of which was rusted maybe 1/2 way though the tube).

Some engines you can find a pretty complete kit. Mine: nope, nada.

I think it took 6-7 orders from 4-5 sources. Painful but worth it.
