There is likely a teflon seal for the rack piston which is not easy to install properly outside of a factory setting, whoever rebuilt the rack probably didn't get that right so something to watch for. as well as wear and damage

Update....

Shop rebuilt the rack, cleaned the screen in the reservoir and flushed it.

But...

They filled it with Pentosin! (mine is ATF)[emoji2959]

So my question is that since it's starting with only Pentosin and not a mix (mixes kill seals) can I just stick with it or is there a difference between seals depending on the oil?

It's fine. I was adding the Pentosin to mine. I added it for a while when I first bought the X5. It's pricey for such a small bottle. After a few months, I discovered it uses ATF. A new filtered reservoir was installed. It was installed to fix a notorious leak. It ruined the OEM alternator. Hoses were old and brittle. New hoses and reservoir fixed it. No issues on mine since going back to ATF DEX VI.

Thanks. I'm just sweating like a whore in church over everything at the moment. [emoji52]
