Locked in my only key today

I locked in my key today, after so many calls made to locksmiths, dealer and other people, I had to brake the little triangle rear left door window :bawling:
I screwed up my car...can't believe that
Any ideas how much that will cost me to replace?

No Roadside? Should be possible to get in to the passenger side manually, right? Worked for my 740... RealOem.com should have the part.... Yeah, here it is- Not sure if this link will work out cause I think the site needs cookies to store the model #, but it's $168 for the rear side window:

Sorry to hear bout that!

Thanks for your reply. No, nothing worked. I called AAA, they said cannot open the car, cannot tow the car without the key. Gave me a few "special" locksmith phone numbers, everybody refused to come open it. Called the dealer, service guy said either I have to tow it in (which AAA refused to do) or I have to order a new key which takes about 4 days to come in. Couldn't leave it in Home Depot parking lot, somebody was gonna tow it away without carrying if he will brake something or not. Try to open it myself, pried the front passenger door and reached the unlock button in the middle. No luck! Then I decided between I ruine my car to just choose the smallest damage and to brake the window. My luck, window didn't brake by using wrench ot anything like that, had to buy a hammer from the store. Finally broke it open and reached for the key.
Sad story, what a *^%#$@ day...
BTW, the link you sent me, isn't this glazing only "tinting" or it's the actual window? And I broke the little window on the door, not the on next to it, so it should be 04 FIXED DOOR WINDOW, BLACK, LEFT 1 51348249929 $55.80.
But is this for the window itself or just the tinting?
Thanks for your patience reading all this.

Just curious, How did u lock the key inside ?

Sounds like a really rough day razr - I'm sure it'll all work out for you in the end. You probably should have called a car thief to help you get into the car - I've read many posts on how quickly and easily they can get into X5s and with minimal damage - just don't know exactly how they do it. Kind of ironic isn't it?

Lemme guess before he answers... Let's see now - he was at Home Depot so I'm guessing he had some stuff with him when he got out of the store, unlocked the rear hatch only with the remote, put his HD stuff in the trunk along with the key, and then closed the hatch. Am I close?

razrv3 03-11-2006 01:42 PM

Yeah, that was the case X5Jay, I left my jacket in the trunk and then when I closed it I realized I locked the key in. It was in my jacket.
Tough day, called the dealer, they said $65, I hope it's the true price.

X5Jay 03-11-2006 01:48 PM

If it ends up costing you only $65 bucks, I'd say you're one lucky dude! GL!

Yeah, after tough yesterday, I need that luck. I hope I find the original factory tinted window. Anyways, duct taped it for now, and I'm off to the mountain.
