Kewl - you hit the nail on the head - great handling improvement without lowering or affecting ride quality. It was actually YOUR story that cemented my decision - along with Hayaku's great write-up as well, of course. It's only been a couple of days now, but the more I drive with these plates installed, the more I can appreciate what they do. They actually make normal cornering more "comfortable" and aggressive cornering more fun. I'm also interested in learning more about sway bars but I haven't heard of anyone installing them yet. As I mentioned in a much older post, I had aftermarket sway bars installed on a couple of other vehicles - '84 Supra & '99 2 door Tahoe. They also made a significant difference on both vehicles without really compromising ride quality, but the bars on the Tahoe didn't hold up very well - bent mounts and got some "clicking" in certain situations. I really don't want this result for my X. I put up with in the Tahoe as it didn't happen all that often, but that's unacceptable in an X5. I'm also not sure about the hard poly-urethane bushings that are typically used with aftermarket sway bars either. Once they start wearing I feel they'll become very sloppy. Anyhow, a bit off topic here w/the sway bar talk. Regarding obiparis' tire wear concerns, I agree with DinanX5 - they'll probably wear more evenly with somewhat aggressive cornering. Having said that, I suspect that while I may get more even wear this way, they'll probably wear faster too - but at least it'll be even and more fun! As for the 4.8 - I believe Imola is correct - I haven't seen camber plates for a front air suspension X5 yet. The other X's that have front air are in the same boat. Finally, I was a bit worried that the plates would make the vehicle a bit "squirrelly" on the highway - not at all. In fact, it may be my imagination but it seems to be even a bit more stable at speed and lane changing feels a bit better as well. I like these "invisible" mods that do wonderful things!
