Installed camber plates yesterday...

Just thought I'd let everyone know I installed a set of Dinan camber plates yesterday. I first went for RE plates but they told my installer that theirs would not fit my 04 X5. Anyhow, even though the RE plates were about $80 less than Dinan's, I got a discount on the Dinan's and saved $50 so it was only $30 more. I had a shop in Stoneham, MA install them called Bavarian Performance Group - nice place and great people. I couldn't have been more pleased with them and their work. They put two guys on the job and it took them just under an hour for the complete installation at a labor cost of $170. They even let me hang out and watch the installation. I still get the heebee-jeebees around spring compressors!

The plates are great & I can certainly notice the difference. Quicker turn-in and the understeer is all but gone. Feels great on exit/entrance ramps. The only problem now is the slow drivers who always seem to be in front of me! Great, fairly low-cost, invisible mod. Very happy with the plates and the shop! :bmw:

X5Jay, congrats. I also have a set of Dinan camber plates sitting in my house. I'm debating whether I should install them or not. Some people get uneven tire wear and some don't...

Mine have been wearing evenly... if you corner aggressively, yours would too.

Congrats on the camber plates. I have the RE Camber Plates which Hayaku helped me install them in my X5. Agree with the quicker turn-in and less understeer!!! Really helps with the handling without lowering the X5.

Need to ask...

Does anyone know if a 4.8is would benefit from these or if there's really not much of a difference??? I keep hearing about camber plates, but as you can see I'm not very mechanically inclined, therefore, I don't know whether it would be a worthwhile mod for me!!! TIA!!!
