Modbug...damn it!
Just as I thought my Modbug had gone away for a few months THIS SPECIAL pops up! Grrr!! So how hard is this to install?? LOL
|
Easy...
Initially this mod is EXTREMELY easy to perform (if you don't mind keeping your iPod in the rear of the vehicle). However, it gets a bit more difficult if you are looking to run the wires to the front of the vehicle to keep the unit close by (although not needed as the steering wheel controls will still allow you to control your iPod tracks along with 6 playlists). I got this mod before I even had the X5 delivered...LOVE IT!!!

I'd definitely want the iPod in the front of the vehicle....

it's not hard at all.. I'm sure the fellas at the DC meet will be more than happy to help you out!!

The iceLink simply plugs into the 2 CD changer plugs in the rea cargo area. Running the cable up front is a task of running the cable underneath the carpet and various trim pieces; it's mostly fairly easy work, but time consuming. Do a search on "iceLink installation" to find the archived articles. You can hide it in the console or mount it on the dash. Lots of folks experienced with this one, so you'll have plenty of advisors. Regards, Mike |

P.S. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA @ your custom title!! |
Wow, no negative comments from the peanut gallery! ;) Anyhow, I would say go for it. I just got one and have been itching to install mine and have it wired to the center console storage bin.
