Hey Imola how's it going??? I was wondering if you can help me out, it seems like I'm having the same trouble you had with your headlight (Xenon went out on driver side) and I was wondering if you could tell me exactly what they did to correct the problem. As it is I've spent 2 days at the dealer. First, yesterday they replaced the bulb and found out that wasn't it. Today they replaced the ballast and said that wasn't it either. Then they told me I have to go back and get the Light Control Module under the glove box replaced, is this correct??? Did you go thru the same process??? What ended up being the problem in your case??? How long did it take them to get it right, was it 16 hours like someone else posted on your thread??? I will really appreciate any light you can shed on the subject!!!!! TIA.

FULANITO; Did you mod your X also? If not why not get it fixed at the dealer?
Or do like someone else suggested. Go back to OEM if possible then let them fix it.

Quicksilver: Thanks for the response and advice!!! As for your question whether I modded or not, the answer is.... Just kidding:thumbup: , I was trying to install JLevi's LED bulbs for the front directionals, as it turns out I was unable to do it regardless of what I did. It seems the bulbs themselves don't work in that particular area, cause I tested them in other places and they worked fine, but in the front I wouldn't even get a bulb out warning, yet the bulbs didn't come on!!! Anyway, while I was messing with the headlights I turned the vehicle on without the driver side headlight connector plugged into the light and this seems to have caused the problem!!! I did go to the dealer since there were no cut wires only spliced to which I admitted no guilt ;) , and spent the past 2 days there trying to figure out what was wrong. The first thing they did was replace the Xenon bulb and it didn't work. The second thing they did was replace the ballast, and that didn't work either. Then the chief technician told me that it was the adaptive headlight control module that was bad and that it could be caused by me tapping into the wire's in the REAR to install my backup camera, and that he was going to have the BMW engineer (who's coming in on friday) look at it to determine whether my warranty was going to be voided or not because of the backup cam:confused:  !!!! In any case the service dept. manager told me not to worry about it, but to take my X and bring it back to them on saturday morning (this way I would avoid the engineer inspecting my X and maybe voiding my warranty for a stupid reason:dunno: ) so that they could go ahead and rep[lace the adaptive light control module which was bad. Nonetheless, I still thought they were wrong in diagnosing the problem, and decided to disconnect my battery for 1/2 an hour and see if this would work, guess what MY HEADLIGHT IS WORKING JUST FINE NOW!!!! I will be going back there tomorrow just to tell them I fixed my own problem;) !!!!! Sorry for the long write up, I just needed to vent how upset and dissapointed I was, yet at the same time how happy it was to see my headlights back to normal!!! Thanks for your concern!!!
