Regarding Clear lamp

I can clear headlamps either by trim off the amber portion of the insert, or leave out the pastic lense pieces from the headlamp to make it completely clear. However, if I remove the plastic lens, doesn't this ruin where the lamp should be angle and lighting up? :dunno: Thanks for sharing
