Seattle newbie

Hey Guys,

Figured I'd say hello after lurking around for a while. :)

I recently traded in my z3 for this "new-to-me" Topaz Blue on black '02 x5 3.0. She's SP, PP, WP, and all sorts of other fun stuff. I've learned alot from the forums, articles, etc about the e53 and love this car more every day. If you're around Seattle, please say hello.

Welcome! Nice ride! This is a great web site full of useful information and lots of fun to help you get the most out of your X5.

asawadude 05-16-2006 01:50 PM

:xoutpost: Nice ride! Topaz blue is a popular color - check on dblock2151 - he recently posted some very nice pix of his after a car wash.

One of our members is moving the Pacific Northwest and wanted input on his choices of Seattle versus Portland. As a resident of Seattle, you are qualified to chime in on this thread:

Go ahead and take a shot at Portland.

Thats my favorite color for an X5

SuperGreg 05-16-2006 02:09 PM

Welcome, that's one helluva nice wax job you have on her!

SeattleTopaz 05-16-2006 02:29 PM

Thanks! She was just washed the day before.... once it stopped raining in Seattle that is.

nice X5, looks really clean, enjoy

SeattleTopaz 05-16-2006 02:30 PM

I've had two other BMWs, Jet Black, and Titanium Silver. I think the Blue is my favorite. My brother actually owns a Topaz Blue e46 330i so at least the touch-up paint costs can be split. :)

PersonaNonGrata 05-16-2006 05:33 PM

:xoutpost: Nice looking X5. Topaz is a very nice color. It was tied for second on my list, along with Black Sapphire. Steel Gray won out.

I will be in Seattle for about 7 hours for a stopover. How long does it take to get from Sea-Tac to downtown by shuttle? The wife and I need to kill some time so we thought we'd hang out in town rather than sit at Sea-Tac.

Welcome...nice X :)

Welcome! Always nice to see another person from seattle. Is that at the Costco on 99?

X5Flyboy 05-17-2006 08:49 AM

Hi there from Idaho. Your X5 looks great. Welcome to the best website to find out anything and everything about your X5. This place really got me up to speed when I bought my '01 10 months ago. Best of luck with your new ride.

It takes anywhere from 15 to 28mins to get to Downtown Seattle.

Also, if uhave 7hours u might as well check out Bellevue.. Bellevue is more of a suburb city with a pretty good mall. To get to Bellevue it takes around 25-35mins at most.

Blue is the way to go!

Enjoy your ride.

Cheers,

I agree with Imola...bellevue is pretty nice and bill gates lives right around the corner from there. But with seattle traffic your may not get enough time...well maybe you would. And plus maybe we could do a Mini SEattle meet. Something simple like a dinner or lunch?

Your car is my cars brother. Mine is an 02 3.0i X5 with the same packages you have although it has a BMW Aero package. It kind of buldges the fenders and both bumpers!

I was looking for pic of this color in stock form.. Thanks!

Here are a few pics 2 days after we got it.. The older E34 525i is my toy/weekend crusier that I drive on nice sunny days when I feel my highschool age!

Anyways, great color! OH did you know that only 364 X5's came in Topaz Blue?

Take care!

Dblock2151 06-24-2006 12:17 AM

I love your color. ;)

The X is looking great! Looked exactly like mine when it was stock. What do you have planned for it? I also have the same options as you, what color is your interior?

SeattleTopaz 06-24-2006 12:54 AM

Vehicle Options

My interior is black dakota leather... I went to the dealer a couple weeks ago and had them pull the service history for the car (as well as the original in-service options), here they are:

364 (Topaz Blue Metallic)
N6SW (Black Weather)

0AAC 100% options
0205 Automatic Transmission
0261 Rear side impact airbags
0257 Rear side airbag deactivation
0ZRC Rear Climate Package
0ZSP Sports Package
0430 Auto-dimming mirrors
0481 Sports Seats
0522 Xenon headlights
0945 price dependency
0438 Wood trim
0677 Premium Hi-Fi System
0ZPP Premium Package
0ZCW Cold Weather Package

When I was shopping around I really wanted this particular set of options (at least SP, PP, WP, sports seats, and xenons) and I wound up walking away from a couple good deals on X5s that didn't quite fit the bill. Finally I chose a mid-mileage one that was perfect over some low-mileage ones that I would be trying to add xenons to, or always regret not having SP, etc. If you're going to do it, I guess you should do it right. :P I couldn't be happier with the x5... even though I kind of miss the z3 on sunny Seattle days like today.

SeattleTopaz 06-25-2006 03:39 PM

Oh, about the 364 number... are you sure you're not referring to the Topazblau BMW color code? (which happens to be #364)

Though I'm not 100% sure on the total # of x5s sold to date (500k units???) I'm pretty sure that BMW sold more than 364 topaz blue X5s! I mean, there are two CPOs sitting in the used lot at BMW Seattle right now... :)
