Mike,

The federal Fair Credit Billing Act states that your written notice of dispute much be received by the creditor within 60 days after the date that first bill containing the error was mailed to you. 15 U.S.C. §1601, §1666. (English language version here :) )

This act has been construed to allow you to withhold payment on any damaged or poor-quality goods or services purchased with a credit card.

However, it is important to please note that this act expressly applies to "charges for goods and services you did not accept or goods that were not delivered as agreed," but does not apply to "disputes about the quality of goods and services." While the difference between these two types of disputes certainly falls into a definitional grey area, the latter types of disputes are usually governed by your state's version of the Uniform Commercial Code, and by the credit agreement with the issuer of your credit card. Regardless, you are generally required to make a "good faith effort" to resolve the dispute with the seller before resorting to other remedies. Your state may have a Consumer Protection Unit at the Department of Attorney General or District Attorney's Office that may be able to help you out.

To be on the safe side, you should provide written notice to your credit card company (via certified mail, return receipt requested) as soon as you become aware of a problem with the quality of the goods. Otherwise, you may find yourself like Andy Kaufman in a wrestling match. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. :)

PM me if I can help you out.

I had no problems what so ever with LSW. They were great. I just called them the other day about the 168 and I found out everything I needed.

Obviously a bad vendor is not going to be horrible with every transaction, otherwise they wouldnt be in buisness. But they gave me horrible service when i had a problem.

I contacted the manager and she was soo dumb, and i could not even rationalize with her to credit me the charge. She said that they refunded me the money they falsely charged me and that they had nothing to do with me anymore.

Not worth dealing with. I would never buy from them again just because they are run by such incompitent individuals.

Sorry this has happened to you, but in Fiberdesign's defense, everything they make is custom, so it does take time. I am in no way affiliated with them, but a few friends of mien have ordered from them, and their quality is bar none.

I hope everything does get resolved promptly.

i went through hung at fiber design. i was actually getting a mtech 2 body kit. He said that it would be at my house in 2 weeks, and i said fine. 2 weeks later try and call no answer no response to messages. call for the next two weeks leaving multiple messages, and noone got back to me. finally i found carlos' direct email and emailed him my complaint. finally hung got back to me he said it would be another 2 weeks, after i had waited 4 weeks already. I told him i wanted a refund. He said that he would have to charge me 400 dollars restocking fee. i argued him down to 200, which i believe was rediculous because i had waited soo long. It takes me two more weeks of nagging to get him to process the refund. Instead of a refund, they fuck up and charge my account double, putting my bank account in negative. Another week later, they give me back my money, still minus the 200 dollars, and now with a 35 dollar charge from my bank for the overdraw fee.

Dont bother with this company if i could save you some nerves.

Is Lakeshore still a sponsor here? Whats the verdict with them? I kinda recommended them to someone.......

we350z 06-21-2007 01:48 PM

i just ordered some staggered 177 replica's from Wheels and Caps, I have heard good things about the quality of the product AND the customer service. They cost a little more and have to charge tax in most states, but isn't it worth it?

streetsoffire 06-21-2007 01:48 PM

Georg300: When you ordered from them, they gave you a date you will have your wheels. Now if they don't deliver by said date, dosen't that constitute a break in the contract with you? So how the hell can they charge you a restocking fee? What do they think you are gonna do with two wheels? You gonna be able to fight this....... Anyway, I'm trying to get in touch with my friend and tell him to hold off.......thanks for your advice.

Considering Lakeshore is a sponsor of the site I think a company representative should come on the forum to discuss the issues. If they are not a good vendor they should be bounced from the site. Just my $.02!
