Clear look

Ok, Iīve been on the archives searching for this question, but couldnīt find a clear answear.

If I open this headlight(the one in the picture) in order to take out the yellow signal, what will I find under it??

Will I find this?

I would like to open the lights and get out the yellow portion of the lights, but I donīt know whatīs under it.
If I find what is shown on pic 2, I believe I only have to buy a pair of silverstar/silvertone (I donīt know exactly the name) bulbs in order to get the yellow signs while on, but remain the clear look when theyīre off..

Please can anyone confirm if I can just remove the yellow portion of the headlight and change the bulbs to get clear lights look?

Thanks in advance.

yes thats exactly what it will look like if you remove the yellow, the black x5 pictured also has the clear circular plastic pieces removed from the high and low beams.

Thanks for your help. I really notice there was something different in those light apart from the clear look, and now that you mention itīs easy to see he removed the clear circular plastic pieces which gives a nicer look.
Is it difficult to remove those? Is there any more on-line pics that shows the final look?

'03's use a different sealer on the headlights and can't be opened. Pick up a cheap pair from an '01 or '02 on ebay, the ones with the amber corners are cheap. You can always sell yours after and it won't end up costing you anything.

I haven't done it myself but others here have... Im pretty sure they are held in by plastic tabs which should make it easy to get them out.... The black x5 also has aftermarket angel eyes installed and xenon lights which are the outer projector looking lights.

J,Seven, I completed this project a few weeks ago and it was s simple process that require patience more so than technique. You may also want to use a dremel tool to remove the side ambers. High and low beam waffle lenses are easy to remove. BostonBlux is correct in saying be sure that your lights are manufactured prior to 08/02. Go with the silver coated bulbs from www.bimmian.com rather than the Silverstars.

Ok I have an 03 with xenons...I would like to clear out my lights...do i need to buy the whole new 01/02 with the xenon, or does the xenon come out and only the plastic housing is different?

03 lights are impossible to open..
