Do I Have Bluetooth?
 

I just purchased a 2005 4.8is X5 and cannot figure out if it has bluetooth capability and what it would cost to get it installed. The vehicle came with every possible option. Does it need a $700 kit or is it cheaper if it already comes compatible. I have a 2003 M3 that I assume is not compatible and that seems to cost around $1000 or so.(Crazy price to talk hands free in my opinion) I guess the question does all a bluetooth compatible vehicle need is just the phone hooked up to it? Any help would greatly be appreciated.

It should have it standard

I know 2006 has it standard on the 4.8 but I cannot find anywhere if 2005 does. It is not on my window sticker and cannot find it in the index in the manuals.

Do you check your owners Manual?

BMW Assist and Blue Tooth come together and BMW Assist is standard on 2005 X5 4.8Is according to the 2005 Order Guide

Check page 23 on your manual!!!! Or at least in the manual that's on the X5World home page!!!!

The window sticker has no mention of BW assist (which is what?) and I am not sure where to look in the owners manual but not in index.

Wait, there is a seperate manula for phone. I guess this must be it. Strange it doesnt mention it elsewhere. I guess this means all i need to do is hook up the phone huh?

as soon as you turn on the car, turn the bluetooth option in your phone and use the option search for audio enhancements, then you'll see something like bmw3252 or whatever number your's is.


Or if you have Gps you should have an option in the menu that says telephone, use that option and press connect with phone.Or the last one is, the button you have on the steering wheel that looks like a face and some lines? ok press that button for about 2 secs till you hear a loud beep, then say phone on, and then you'll hear phone activated, then search for audio enhancements on your cellphone....Hope this helps
