adaptive headlights

While driving home tonight it appears that my adaptive headlights aren't turning. I know that they were turning before they were replaced last week.

How can i tell if they put the adaptive or non adaptive xenons back in?

can someone who has the adaptive lights give me the part number so that i can compare to what's in my x?

thanks

I don't have the part number but here's something to consider.

Is your light switch all the way to the left to the automatic position?
It's my understanding that adaptive lights don't turn if they are not
switched to the automatic position

thanks... i'm about to get medevil on BMW

I'm just hoping someone with the adaptives can pop their hood and give me the part number, it's on a sticker right on top of the assembly and is easy to get to...

In raised letters on the plastic shroud of my driver's side Adapative Xenon headlight (2005 X5) is the following part number:

224-583-00 LI

LeMansX5 05-14-2005 02:22 PM

My guess the AHL part # is 63126940187 & 63126940188

Check this page on part#s and what you got.

Maybe they put the non-AHL system.

bfan - thanks for looking, much appreciated. That number matches. The passenger side is 224 584-00RE.

unfortunately, the part number that is on the white sticker on the top of the assemby doesn't coincide with any part numbers from RealOEM. :(

DUDE! Thanks.... that sight is awesome. Unfortunately, none of those part numbers jive with what is in my X. I'm going to call the parts department at the local dealer on Monday and give them the numbers that i took off of the white sticker and see what they tell me.

As a side note, while i was looking under the hood for the part numbers, i noticed that the hood realease cable is frayed (definitely damaged by whomever stole my lights), it was the first thing i noticed when i stuck my head under the hood, how BMW missed it when they were replacing the lights is unimagineable... and the saga continues....

Here are the numbers off of the sticker on my driver's side Adaptive Xenon light:

1ES-224-487-23/AC
7 164 461 01
SAE HR-HG03

And the raised lettering on my passenger side plastic shroud match yours
224-584-00 RE

As a side note, I looked at the window sticker from X5 and it says the following:

"Xenon Headlights: $ 800.00
Adaptive Light Control Included"

Logically I would think they would install the adaptive ones by default as they seem to be standard these days and are probably more plentiful.

Hope that helps you out.
