Can servotronic be retrofitted?
 

Methinks useful for reversing with trailer attached.
If it's a big deal, wouldn't bother.
If it was electronics based, would consider.
Anyone done a thesis on this?

No kit available. Dealers are to persuade customers against trying to retro-fit due to the safety aspect from what I have read.

Interesting, I take it that it involves mechanical bits.

Mechanical/electrical and I think another computer.

BMW makes a retrofit kit for installing servotronic steering. It is not available here, but since you are in Europe maybe you can get your hands on it...or atleast find out if it's available and what it costs. The BMW part number is 01104444444. Let me knowwhat you find 'cos I have been thinking about it as well...

I fitted servotronic on my X last week.I was installed steering rack with
servotronic valve.One problem is recode your car with new ZCA code wich
consist 0216 servotronic option.If anyone here need SA calcultion i can help.

King dont you have a 4.6.They come standard with servotronic. Donegal Tdi, if you can retrofit servotronic to your X it'll be worth the $$$ it's awesome
