Removing Rear Roundel

Can anyone give me some advise on removing the rear roundel?

I used the binding tape from a large package I was sent. I am not sure of its proper name but it was always handy for slipping car locks if that helps.

Anyway I slid that under the roundel working under and over the pins slowly getting more and more out. Then I gave it a big pull once I had clear purchase. Remember the resistance you feel is the double sided tape around the inside of the roundel nothing else.

I then refitted the replacement, popped it straight on.

Thats how I done the front as well

The proper way is to use a heat gun or hair-dryer. SLOWLY heat the emblem and as the glue softens, you should be able to pry it off. Use a rag against the paint, and a flat screw-driver to gently pry as you heat it. Maybe use a hair-dryer 'cos those heat guns get pretty darn hot and you may melt the damn thing! Use 'goo-gone' to remove any glue residue...

The problem with using a flat head, which I have done before, is you end up using the base as a pivot/leverage point. The base is not very strong and IMO is a risky route.

Use the heater and the banding tape!

Yeah I used the heat gun and a piece measuring tape, the kind a tailor would use as its soft yet strong, guite similar to plastic binding tape infact! It eventually came free. I dont recommend and type of hard tool as you would only end up damaging the roundel and the support the roundel sits on.

Use a fishing line. Make a loop, work it so it goes over and behind the roundel and then pull it out.
