Rear Window Stuck
 

Drove to the train station this morning and realized that my rear left window is opened half way down. Using the control, I was unable to close it, but was able lower it to the fully open position, which is where it is now. Am I a victim of the famous BMW window actuator problem? Any solutions beyond the obvious, which maybe replacing the actuator?

This happend a few times on my e39 540i. But what I found was when I switched the car off and left it for about 10mins, then switched it on again the system seemed to reset and the window would go up again by the pressing the button! It's worth a try if you havent already tried that. Failing that it could be the actuator which again was a problem on the e39 rear windows and this was mainly due to the fact they are seldom used. I would say the same for my X5. There has never been anyone in the back of my X5 yet and I have had it now for 3 months!

Sounds like a bad window regulator.

Sudesh, no so luck in my case. I am convinced that SG's diagnosis is correct. Guess I have to pay the dealer a visit. Thanks for the input guys.
