This happend a few times on my e39 540i. But what I found was when I switched the car off and left it for about 10mins, then switched it on again the system seemed to reset and the window would go up again by the pressing the button! It's worth a try if you havent already tried that. Failing that it could be the actuator which again was a problem on the e39 rear windows and this was mainly due to the fact they are seldom used. I would say the same for my X5. There has never been anyone in the back of my X5 yet and I have had it now for 3 months!

Sudesh, no so luck in my case. I am convinced that SG's diagnosis is correct. Guess I have to pay the dealer a visit. Thanks for the input guys.
