I've been pissing YOU off? how? I think I've responded to maybe one of your posts.... I normally avoid anything to do with your threads as they make me dumber for having read them.

You know what kid, when you're done with puberty and start paying your own bills maybe you'll look back on your childhood and realize what a complete ass you made of yourself in your teens. But then again, I doubt you will...

In my opinion, both sides have a valid argument. No, owning a BMW does not necessarily makes us "better drivers" or "more appreciative" of technology and performance. We are not a "special breed." There are many people who indeed appreciate BMWs but who simply cannot afford them, or for whom a 50K SUV is simply not something they can justify.

Having said that, we DID buy a BMW for one (or many) reason(s). Maybe we put a premium on the whole driving experience thing. Maybe we appreciate luxury, quality, and great engineering. Maybe we simply like speed. More than likely -- for most of us, at least -- it is a combination of all those things. In that regard, we ARE, well... "different." We have 50K or 60K to spend on a car; we have a LARGE selection from which to select (including "small buses," monstrous trucks, high-end convertibles, you name it). YET we ELECT to purchase a BMW. We may not be a "special breed" of drivers, but we are certainly not a "normal breed" of drivers, either. :D

Now, let's all kiss and make up. We are all here because we ALL love our choice in automobiles, and share the passion for what BMW and the X5 stand for. So, let's quit the bickering. It's not worth it.
