If you lower the X5, is there any real conflict with the tires? The Imola X5 you posted is actually a 4.6is, not a 4.8is.

An inch or two will not hurt anything. Dealer can do it in a few minutes.

Nope, its a 4.8is, as I know the owner. Don't go by the wheels. He changed the wheels from style 168 to style 87 right after he bought. Also notice the facelift headlights.
No conflict with tires on lowering. Several here have lowered. Here are before and after pics

Beautiful 4.8is !!!

MatzoBallsX5 11-26-2006 06:34 PM

You got me there, I thought that was a 4.6is because of the wheels.

Any idea how much it costs to lower the X5 a couple of inches? I didn't know the dealer can actually do it for you, I would have thought otherwise.

they'll probably charge an hour of labor

Thanks for the ideas. I'm going to look into powder coating some pieces in the interior and also lowering the entire vehicle. Is there any real benefit to lowering the vehicle? Does it void the warranty on the vehicle at all?

You'll need the dealer to lower the rear air suspension, so you can ask them the impact to warranty at the time the drop is performed. It should not void the warranty but your mileage may vary from dealer to dealer. Some may not cover any suspension issues while all other non-affected parts will remain covered; other dealers will not let the lowered suspension alter warranty coverage.

87's don't look that good on facelifted model
he should have kept the 168's but i know i know everyone got their own taste
