You should be fine, if you get to the point that the breaks make any noise, then you should run to the dealer or whenever you would go to have the pad replace. I just had my rear pads replace yesterday.

laugh all you want at me, but i drove for 5,000 miles with those warning symbols....and finally today i'm replacing them...talk about massive problems and the rotors being grinded...i just drive my car and use it so much driving from norcal to so cal a few times a week, so i cant go without my car....

pad was completely gone and rotor....well...yeah..not even sure if it would be considered a rotor anymore :)
