Would someone please 'splain this climate control to me???!!!
First off, I have the auto climate control and I only use one key so this is not a programming issue. Why is it sometimes I get in the car and the settings are set to where I left them last and other times the settings revert back to the way they were before I changed them the last time I was in it. For example:
1) I get in and the air is set at 75F, blowing on my feet and at my face. 2) I decide to change it to 72F and blowing only on my feet. 3) I shut off the vehicle and leave for awhile 4) I come back and crank up the car Sometimes it goes back to Step 1, sometimes it goes back to Step 2 Does it have something to do with how long I am gone, how long since I changed it, what??? I have had this car for over 2 years and still have not figured this out and yes, I have searched the manual a few times. Thanks in advance!!! |
Key memory?
Works for our keys. |
Sounds to me like the climate control is figureing out what the temp is in your vehicle is after you have been away and then delivers what it thinks is best based on the temp you have chosen. To many variables at work i suppose.
Auto seems to work well for me although at times it's knows it's too hot in the vehicle and proceeds to cool things down quickly with high speed air. Over all it works prettry good. I have to admit though that i have never seen any climate control work as good as my 1987 Fleetwood Cadillac. It flatout just worked no matter what the inside or outside tempt. |
All this is while set in AUTO?

First, get another key in case you join the "ILMKITX" gang.
Even so, it is linked to the KM system and that has all sorts of funny quirks and foibles. It could be the problem. |
Then without manually changing the vent position, I am lost too.:dunno:

Same problem here. Always left on auto, usually the temp is 72/73-driver/pass. Come back and sometimes both will be at 70, still auto. Same key.
