I'm not trying to make myself feel better. I keep looking at pictures of the E70 trying to like it. Just too X3ish. When they change the design in 2008 I'll get another one :)

E70 LOOKS CHEAP!!

ESPECIALLY THE BUMPER SIDE.

I still did not see the E70 in real, but from the pics I like the E53 much more.. maybe the E70 interior is better but not the exterior

I want to like it but that rear end kills me. I am not a fan.:thumbdown

As a newbie-owner of E53 I like results of this poll :D
but I also like the look of E70

not to throw gas on a lit fire, but for me it's definitely not E70 envy that's getting me to vote for the E53 either. I'm with Wagner, the two are going after a different group of demographics. Whether or not BMW will be successful is yet to be seen. However, BMW, as a company, is not stupid, and if they see a big falloff in sales, you'll be sure to see a facelift of sorts in the very new future.

I like the E70, but I think the E53 will be a near timeless classic,
when we look back at "SUVs", 20 years from now...

I think some things could have been done differently, style-wise,
on the new E70, but that's normal, human, opinion nit-picking.

I do think the size and weight increase, is not the direction to
go, and the pricing, vs. my admittedly 5 1/2 yr old '01, is outta
my consideration zip code.

I will be very curious to see Mr Fred MeLoan's sales stats on
the E70, around about May or June; no dig at the new one,
but it is truly a different and crowded mkt out there, compared
to when the E53 was king, circa '01 through '05, imo.

I was at my BMW dealer yesterday, picking up some valve caps for the M3. They had the new E70 accessories catalog on the counter so I paged through it. I like some of the front/rear end add-on's available for the new X5 to make it look more agressive. Otherwise, you guys are right, the front end resembles the X3. No offense intended for the X3 owners. :)

The poll seems a bit skewed to the E53.......

I love the look of the new tail lights with a hint of the 7-series tails. The silver line though it make them look very stylish compared to the E53. I hate the front fascia tho...
