i'll just say it like this: this is the first time i've seen a new car model come out which made me *NOT* want to upgrade to it.

however, to be perfectly honest, my biggest complaint with the new one is the INTERIOR rather than the exterior. The exterior, i think, could grow on me, especially having just seen one on the road finally.

But that interior ... ugh. :(

I think the e53 looks MUCH better - far from envy.

Because I was at the dealer the other day, I took a e70 on a test drive. like other opins posted before, I did think the road feel was more 'refined' and I thought, that they are feeling pressure from Acura and others to change direction a bit. As stated above, I think the new entrants to this market has caused BMW styling etc to go for a different market than the e53 so the results of this pole aren't a surprise.

I think the E70 will grow on me...they should paint the front mesh on all of the models...then the front will look much better...the rear looks 2 plastic...something needs to be painted the body color back there!

BMW is getting ready to release their X6 and so they want people to cool off towards the X5 and once it comes out, be like, "Of BMW X series, I'd rather buy the X6!" Could be a marketing strategy. What do you guys think?
