I haven't done this myself but I think it is very easy. The filter is located in the engine bay close to the windshield. There are two black plastic screws that you turn to remove the cover. The filter slides in and out. I think it's that simple.

open the hood, turn the 4 spring loaded clips. replace filter. put the cover back on and turn the spring loaded clips.. you're done..

Another in addition suggestion would be to run the heat at full blast with the AC on. This has worked for me in other vehicles...kinda "bakes" the system clean. Worst case, you're out a couple bux in gasoline while it runs without you in it!

Einszett (1z) has one called Klima Cleaner

you can look at online shops like www.detailersparadise.com or call nick up for his recommendation.

alternatively, you can go to www.autopia.org to find out what those detailing gurus recommend.

BG makes a product called Frigi Fresh and Frigi Clean that I've used with great results. Because getting to your evaporator is a PITA (trust me), these products go down into it and clean it, get any microbes outta there.

$10 will get you a maintenance cleaner, but if you're worried about microbes, you gotta spend a little more.

went there. they had this japanese one, but it looked kinda phony. the guy selling it said he tried it, but didnt sound so confident that it worked.

i'm still trying to find the klima at a brick and mortar....
