Which part of my post been a "HUGE pain in the ass"? The part of I was pointing out his incorrect information? or the part I try to steer the topic back to X5 related info? |
What E39 M5 problems. You mean the first 6months of 2000 production that burned oil Because they used a piston ring that was more usefull for a race car than a street. Car. Yea thats a pain in the ass if you gotta add a quart of oil every 3000 miles. But i dont even think that comes close to engines blowing apart. Mine is a 2001 and it does not burn a drop. I guessed they fixed it then huh. Listen if i were you i would seriously get rid of that car befoe it is out of waranty. and that is good advise i am not trying to be an Ahole about it just to bust your chops. And no one will even want to buy that car when its out of waranty so sell it know. Well you do have the waranty till 2008 so wait another year then dump it. Like i said i love BMW but i can admit it when I know BMW F@$ked up. And not try to hide it just because i happen to own one and want to look good. It is what it is. And seriously I hope you are one of the ones that the S54 does not blow on.

Also who is telling you my info is wrong and yours is right. If I could be wrong then you could be wrong to. Unless your uncle is a BMW factory engineer and you got some inside track on it or something.

By the way X5s kick ass ans I love mine. I just wish they made a supercharger for it already. Come on Dinan what is takeing so long.

errrr, getting back to the original question
I have a 2003 3.0 X5 and when was trading in the 320 I test drove the 4.4 and the 4.8 back to back. The 4.4 seemed so similar off the line to our 3.0 but where it was far superior was in the mid range pick up. Our 3.0 is great out on the open road, but falls in a hole around town in the mid range acceleration. You can really feel the weight. My understanding is that the gearing/valvetronic give the 3.0 a lively start until the weight/torque comes in to play. |
