745il rims fit onto an X5?

Anyone know if 745il rims can fit onto an X5?

the 745's run a 18-20mm offset

the x5's run 38-40mm offset

bolt pattern is 5x120 on everything

I think this means I can get a 20mm spacer? I hope it's that simple, and someone makes them?

my boss is buying a set of all season rims/tires so he can drive his 745il in new york for the next 2 months, I can have them cheap/free when he's done for the x5

or for my 95 M3, they run 40mm offset too

i think they do...i saw a pic in this forum with the 19" multi-spoke 7-series wheels on their X5

19" the best size to go with? or 18's?

I'm not big on bling

18s are sufficient...19s are for style and slightly more performance.

what kind of X do you have?

They will fit but you will have to buy 30 mm spacers for the rear.

You all have it backwards. When you add a spacer it reduces the offset by the spacer width.
Here's some info on offsets.
http://www.miata.net/garage/offset.htm

A smaller offset moves the wheels outward, so they have a tendency to fill out the wheel well better. Cars set up for show, more than performance will often choose a lower offset wheel, however, if the offset is too small the sidewall will rub the inside of the fender.

I bought 22" breytons that were on a new 745i and had to buy 30mm spacers for the rears.
Without them the fronts stick out farther.
Our X's have staggered wheels. The 745i doesnt have as much difference.
Here's a pic of the 22's on my X without the spacers

I didnt get to take a pic with the spacers on.(sold them cause ride was too rough)

The problem is not the rear!the smaller offset of the 745i,is quite acceptable for the rear. The problem is that on the front it sticks out a bit further.
Putting a 30mm spacer on the rear will give you negative 0ffset,as opposed to ET30 as per Oem.
