issues running 19's on non sport suspension?
are there any issues with ride by installing a set of the 19's on an X5 with non sport suspension?
This is a plus 2 from the stock 17's..... |
I am running 20's on my non-sport which originally came with 18's. No problems whatsoever.

should not be any problems...
but warning...may cause better handling and cornering :D:D:D (happy 300, djbock) |
No prob and it's really not "plus 2", tire rolling diameter-wise.
More like plus 1/2, barely. Post the new wheel/tire combo and I can show you a handy link to make you feel more comfortable about the swap... You will love'em! GL,mD |
I went with the 132's in 19x9 with 255/50-19's on the front and 19x10 with 285/45-19 on the rear. Tires are PIRELLI SCORPION ZERO ASIMMETRICO.

with 235/65-R17 tires... Using my handy dandy calculator, your old 17 vs new 19 front is exactly the same circumference and rolling diameter/rpms per mile. Furthermore, your old 17s vs your new rear big tire combo is less than 2/10ths of one percent "different"...an immeasuarable difference esp. due to tire variations, tire growth at speed, etc. You can do the calcs yourself; tire comparo data are never exact, but lose enough for the girls we all go with: http://www.powerdog.com/tiresize.cgi If you want to get a little more exotic in your calcs, eg wheel offset, how the wheel "looks" on spindle, etc. use this more elaborate calcuation site: http://www.bigcustomwheels.com/rt_specs.jsp But, it requires you to know you wheel size(s), offset, exact tire size(s), before and after. I would plug all that in for you, but when I link it, the "results" don't "stay there" for you to view. But, use the links and trust me: you are rolling down the road on basically the same "size" rolling circles. GL,mD |
I knew the rolling diameter was almost identical, what I was concerned about the sidewall ratio on the tires not being correct for the suspension design......

I run 19" style 132s with Diamaris in the summer. No issues as you say. The handling is better with the 19" wheels but the ride is harder.

your concern. Non-sport suspension is not an issue, imo. |
I just think its funny that I can get a wider sportier tire and wheel combo off the shelf for my X5.... I had to have custom 3 peice wheels made for my 928
