Again, Michelin Touring HPs. The are the best all year round tire. With a soft, way too quite of a ride for 315s and are sticky as hell. They have a tread wear life of 440 and are W rated. Not only that if it ever does snow they are like tank tracks in the snow. I use my year round and I make weekly trips in the winter to the various passes around here to snowboard.

I'm on the Gold Coast, no snow up here either. Bummer. Soon to go onto level 5 water restrictions. Can't wash your car, even with a bucket! I also have 19" wheels. What are your original equip' tyres that have lasted 60.000km? Are they Yokohama Advans? Can get the Advans from Bob Jane for $520 rear and $460 front. Replacement Bridgestone Turanza's $705 rear and $685 front. A no brainer if noise, handling and wear are all equal.

Hi Colin, I have Bridgestone Turanza's, the front tyres have now done 67,500kms and will need replacement soon if we get rain :rofl: . I replaced the rears about 5 months ago.

I rotate the wheels from left to right very 5000kms and have had the tyres reversed on the rims.

I had those on my stock 19s "Bridgestone Turanza ER" Aren't they a directonal tire. I thought you couldn't rotate directional tires/tyres.

Agree, definitely not directional or asymetric. I have also moved tyres left to right and reversed on the rims, but still only managed to get 55000 from the rears and possibly 5000 more from the front, if I take it easy. I also had an issue with too much negative camber on the rear. Took the X5 to BMW Brisbane to get a Beissbarth (alignment equipment made specifically for BMW) wheel alignment, and asked them to stand the rear wheels more upright, but still within the allowable tollerence. This stopped the tyres from wearing prematurely on the inside edge. Why did I go to the Brisbane dealer and not the local Gold Coast dealer I hear you ask? Well, the local dealer's Beissbarth wheel alignment equipment is unserviceable, and has been for a couple of years (and still is by the way). They send cars requiring alignment to the local Tyre Power dealer and charges $110 for a $59 alignment.
Will probably give the Yokohamas a go, as they get some good reviews from the American Tire Rack website. They are asymetric, but can still be reversed on the rim so long as you also move them to the opposite side.

Hey Colin, Do you have self levelling rear suspension? I do on mine but, I can notice the angle of the wheels you are talking about. If anything I think the rear of mine should sit approx 10mm higher which would straighten out the rear wheels.

Anyway let me know how you go with the tyres.
