New Tyres
 

Dear All,
Am in need of new tyres for my 05 3.0D. It has done 55,000km (35,000mls) and the rear's are just about cactus (worn out). Original equipment tyres are Bridgestone Turanza ER30. They are hard to obtain and quite expensive. I have had a look at the Yokohama Advans and they look pretty good and are well priced. Has anyone had any experience with the Yokohama Advans, and if so how do they perform? Especially interested in wear and noise.

You totally want Michelin Touring HPs. Best tire ever!

We have Yokohama Geolandar HTS G052s on our 3.0i Sport. Great all season tire. Do you get snow where you are? The BStone Turanza ER30 is an overall crappy tire (many Porsche Cayenne drivers didn't like them becasue of their short life and mediocre ride/performance characteristics). The Yokos are very nice with excellent ride/performance and wear characteristics and a digestable price.

Tire Rack has great owner reviews with a rating system that allows you to make an informed decision. Check them out, but also check with Tires.com - their owner reviews pale in comparison but their pricing sometimes makes up for that.

Tires.com has great pricing but the delivery to "down under" may be a little steep.

Michelin Diamaris 4x4 are excelent tires. :thumbup:

Mine are 285/45 x 19 (back) and 255/50 x 19 (front). And the car goes like on rails.

Winter tires: Vredstein Xtreme 235/65 x 17.

But I would really like to :stickpoke the big guys - so I´ll appreciate to hear about experiences with Yokohama or other brands (hopefully cheaper)!

Well, you will probably get as many opinions about which tire to buy as there are members to this forum. :rofl::rofl:

But I have been running Yokos (currently ES100) on my 728i since 2000 and am very happy with them. My X5 has Pirellis which work just fine.

Each place I rang said they could have them within a day or 2. I have 19" rims so the odd size was the issue.

I need front tyres for mine now @ 67,000kms rears already replaced at 60,000.

Prices vary from A$525 each to around $670+, so shop around.

Where are you located? I can give you the details of the places I went to if you are in Melbourne.

I'll second that, been in a drought for more than 10 years....we are lucky to see rain. Unless you live at the pointy end of Oz.
