$32,200 fair for '03 4.6is?
I decided to trade in my 03 Imola Red 4.6is. The Dealer is offering me $32,200 for the car which currently has about 48k miles. It has all options including nav and imola red trim inside. If I count the trade-in tax savings, the total allowance is about $35k. What do you think guys?

Jakeis,
Thats good for what you will see here in Chicago with that interior. Go to cars.com and revise the search for 4.6is. 2002 with 50k miles are going for $45k plus on the west coast! nuts. It might be worth putting it up there for 30 bucks if you have the time. |
3.0s 2003 go for around 28-30k...
So your car should be in the range of 40k+ |

Sell it yourself, you should be able to get at least what the dealer offered but probably more.

This vehicle has a clean title history, the paint, body and/or interior need work performed by a professional. The tires may need to be replaced. There may be some repairable rust damage. |
Might try Ebay. Another guy with an Imola red X5 had his on Ebay and I believe it was bid to $38,000. Here is a link to his For Sale post. You can ask him for details on the auction. He ended up keeping the X in the family.
http://www.xoutpost.com/bmw-sav-items...ight=imola+red I think over $39k is a bit high but mid $30's to $39k is do-able. Considering the tax savings and no hastle or bs with trying to sell it the trade in might not bee al that bad! Do you guys have Carmax in Chicago? Always worth a shot to drive by there..... |
