three car seats

Has anyone out there managed to get three car seats comfortably across the rear? Main concern is with the middle seat and getting something in that gits between the two seat belt holders.

Still to invest in an X5 and I can't get out to look at one before the weekend so any experience forum peeps have got with sticking the children in the back would be much appreciated!

I've seen two done, but not three.

Only if all three are boosters. If you need full car seats then 2 is the max. If you remove the seat bolster next to the doors on each side you might be able to fit 3. Just pull on them to get them out.

Yes You Can!!! I Did It Last Night..

here is what I did..

First remove the car seats you have in ther now.
Wash your car and clean it completely out.
Look at your financial situation and Credit..
Drive to your local minivan dealer and trade it in !

Yes not only does my daughter have a hard time getting up into the X5 but my wife is due with our 3rd baby on May 7th!!

So I traded the X5 in for a new mini van..

Ouch! :(

You may be able to get three across with a booster in the middle, if the booster has no armrests.

I think rayxi is correct, you could fit three in, put it would be a lot easier if you pull the side bolsters.
I have two cars seats in the back of mine, rear facing one in the middle for baby and forward mount seat (with five-point racing harness  ) for toddler.
If you have more than one rear-facing baby seat, you'd probably have some issues, the passenger seat has to be scooted way forward to fit a rear-facing seat directly behind it.
Wife absolutely LOVES having the X5 to drive around in. I hardly ever get to drive it.

And PLEASE don't buy a minivan!! ;puke;

Hey, love your avatar!
The caribou could care less if there is a drill rig out on the tundra, they walk around the existing installations all the time. So do the bears and all the other wildlife.
Not to hijack the thread here, but this would be a good lounge topic. I could go on for a while...

Back to the baby seats, I have three seats (one's a booster seat that we haven't started using yet) I'll try putting all three in the back of the X and see how they fit and report back tomorrow.

Yeah, when I said 'car seats' I wasn't being specific enough. Two are boosters (boys six and three). One is a rear facing baby seat. I think it should be ok. I looked at an rx300 today and the middle seat is really narrow - there is very little room between the two middle seat belts - and got a bit concerned but the x5 arrangement seems to have much more middle seat room...

:iagree: You must have been reading my mind.
