E53 X5 with one of the lowest rate of driver death!!
Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (famous for showing in Dateline back in 12/2000 that the E53 X5 was the safest car ever tested in their history) just released data for the vehicles with the lowest rate of driver death and also cars/suv with the highest rate of driver death.
They looked at 2001-2004 model year car driven during the calendar year 2002-2005. The E53 X5 and BMW 7-series were listed as fewer than 20 driver deaths per million registered vehicle years. Check it out here with this PDF file: http://www.iihs.org/sr/pdfs/sr4204.pdf |

Thanks for posting, Chairman!
|
that is nice to know

I have a 2000, does that mean I'm driving a dead trap. Nice find
|
My X5 is a very safe vehicle. It's death rate is zero.
:) |
am proud of being X5 owner! safe driving + good team here!
|
Yup, thats why I bought me both the E38 and E53 for the safety of my family:thumbup: It goes unappreciated though

highlander beat the X5?
I swear that thing does not seem safer than the X5. X5 is heavy whereas the Highland is light. I slam my door in the highlander and it barely takes an effort whereas the X5 door is heavy. |
Very good to know
:) Thank you |
very good to know!
way to go, BMW! |
