I NEED HELP
 

I am also having a hard time getting the main bolt on crankshaft loose.
I broke the Sir Tools(BMW 3034-1) crank pulley securing tool trying to get it loose.
If I use heat, will it cause any damage?

Those that have managed to get it loose, any advice for me?

you DON'T remove the crank shaft bolt to remove the balancer.

Agreed I wasted a whole day. That bolt doesn't hold the balancer on. Just the small bolts that surround it!!!

i am so glad i read this - I was starting to think the center bolt would need to come off even though nothing is mentioned about this in the TIS however the DIY does mention it. I guess i just need to whack the damper with a mallet :-)
