I NEED HELP
I am also having a hard time getting the main bolt on crankshaft loose.
I broke the Sir Tools(BMW 3034-1) crank pulley securing tool trying to get it loose. If I use heat, will it cause any damage? Those that have managed to get it loose, any advice for me? |
you DON'T remove the crank shaft bolt to remove the balancer.

Agreed I wasted a whole day. That bolt doesn't hold the balancer on. Just the small bolts that surround it!!!

i am so glad i read this - I was starting to think the center bolt would need to come off even though nothing is mentioned about this in the TIS however the DIY does mention it. I guess i just need to whack the damper with a mallet :-)
