You can leave the iPod in the trunk, but we would prefer having it in the cabin area with you so you don't have to go to the trunk every time you wanted to synchronize music.

Also, I too have encountered worse clarity using the Dension/DICE connection. I can hear that engine noise in the background that others have experienced. I just recently ordered a different brand IPOD interface that hooks up directly to the back of the head unit. I hope this will work better.

Just so you know, this is not a mass produced brand, rather it is pretty much a hand made product - kind of like a Radio Shack project. However, if it works ok, then that won't really matter to me. Also it is very basic, with no mounting brackets. You just have a plain docking cable - which is what I wanted.) I only plan to use my Ipod for long trips, so I opted for thi svery basic, simple set up.

The only bad thing is that cables are not long enough to run from the head unit, under my console, and into the storage area under my arm rest which is how I want to install it. It is designed to either run into the glove box, or to let you mount to a backet to your dash/console. (F.Y.I., it uses the same connection as the Dension/Dice, so you could use their mounting brackets if you already have them.) I'll bet I could have asked for them to specially build mine with a longer cable, but I didn't think to ask. Anyway, I should be able to purchase a longer wire cable fro Radio Shack and swap out the connectors myself.

More detaisl later on how well it works.
