Yep, we put a lot of time in support before and after installation.

OK Tom, I went thru all 32 pages. The subject was brought up on Page 23, however, was never resolved in the thread. There were two people that had this same issue on that page.

Can you tell me if/ how they resolved the issue??

Thanks!!

We don't know if this is a DICE issue or not in your X5.

Has anything changed in your configuration (electronics) since installation? If not, the module can be bench tested to see if it is failing.

I installed a sub and amp the first of this year, but the issue just started. I only hear these noises when using the DICE and iPod or the XM receiver that I have hooked up to the DICE.

I will go back and double-check that I have the EQ and sound check stuff turned off and get back with you.

Unfortunately I HAD to drive the wife's SLK350 to work today ;) , so I will have to check this evening.

I never could get mine to work properly. I did have to adjust the pins so that the lined up properly when plugging in. Once I did that, the unit played perfectly - until I started the vehicle. Once I started it up, I got that static/hissing noise. I too have upgraded to the BSW speakers, which are crystal clear. Because they are so clear, I can hear imperfections in my music. I probably would not have noticed as much with my old muddled sounding stock speakers.

I not 100% sure, but I think the problem may be related to the fact that you have a 10-12 ft cable running from the stereo head unit that you plug the Dice 10-12 ft cable into. So you have 20+ ft of cable routed through out the vehicle that you are running the IPOD through. Perhaps this cable is picking up interference from the drivetrain.

Tom - I checked the settings on the pod and the EQ and sound-check are off. However, I am pretty sure this is an issue with the DICE bc I hear the same noises when using my XM receiver that is hooked up thru the AUX on the DICE.

What would you recommend at this point??

We can have the module inspected/replaced if it is found to be defective. Please email me with your full name and we'll make the necessary arrangements.
