Ok, the Hans Stuck - X5 LeMans Video has been around for a while. I would love to know what the guy doing the intro is saying and what Hans himself says while driving and after when he pops the hood.

Anyone who is fluent in German have some spare time?? 6.5 minutes?? I know it will be a pain in the butt to listen to it an type it out. But, it would be very cool to find out what is being said!!!

i agreee. he has to provide, us the x5 fanatics wit im sure some interesting info, on what bmw did wit the car, how it feels... etc

Here's the whole thing (Germans will probably laugh).
It's not perfect but you'll get the idea:

Hello, my name is Hans Joachim Stuck, and I'm pleased to show you all that the X5 LeMans has in it.

To have the possibility to drive such a vehicle is really a remarkable experience.

(Something about young/kids dream) lots of power at all time, connected to the all wheel drive,
it just keeps on going.

You can of course imagine what an experience this record run at Nurburgring was, a top speed of 309 km/h,
even with this "raised" vehicle since it is a SUV, but with that speed and power all together, that was
a unique experience in my career.

Here we get onto the long straight, lets see what it can do.

You can easily se that it gets up to 260 km/h in notime, ant thereafter, since it weighs about 2 tons,
and the CW of this vehicle is none of a sportscars, it takes a bit longer to get up over 300 km/h.

Here in the long bends you notice the incredible roadholding, it does not oversteer, it does not understeer,
in every situation the all wheel drive gives it a very stable handling.

The remarkable thing is that it is a very standard vehicle, only the engine has changed, thereby naming it "LeMans".

Now it gets calm in here again.

Yepp, this is the hartbeat of the X5 LeMans, the 12 cylinder that won the 24 hour LeMans. It fits great and gives the X5
what it needs, super performance. (editors notice: 700 hp)

Intro guy:
The car, with 18 inch wheels (20" according to other sources), has been lowered 30 mm. Exterior and driveline has been modified very lightly compared to the standard car.
Comfort and weight is unchanged, a standard 6 speed gearbox has been installed.
BMW brought the X5 LeMans to the street in less that 4 months.

It has been a dream to experience this car, and my personal opinion,
together with BMW's advertising, proves that with such an X5, everything is possible.
That a car with such a body and chassie, equipped with 3 times the horsepower of a standard X5,
performs so good, is a proof of an unique engineering skill.

This episode proves, that for most people, car driving is a great joy.
The X5 LeMans is not for sale, even though an oil billioner has given an
enormous offer, he got a NO from BMW.

My fav. X5!!!
Why no one produced LeMans body kit??? I guess the same reason why no one manufactures LED taillights. What's wrong with people...?

Anyone knows what has happened to the X5 LeMans since then?
Is it in a museum or what?
Also did some updates to the text, most important, it was 7.49 !!!!!!!!

I emailed BMW USA and they say they do not know where the X5 LeMans is...... :banghead: or.... they do not want to say where it is......

It's a conspiracy I tell ya!!!!!
