DICE Ipod integration
 

Has anyone installed yet on there x5 with dsp? How is the installation?

The DICE is very simple to install, your specific model year will depend if you need the DSP converter or not.

What year do you have?

I am planning on orderdering the DICE ipod adapter for my 05/2005 X5 3.0i w/o DSP, w/o CD changer.
Looking at the following article I was not able to identify the 3 and 6 pin wiring harness for the CD Changer plugs. Do you have any other instructions with more detailed steps?

I have just fitted the DICE adpator for Early DSP to my 2000 model X5, I do not have an Ipod but I had been given a new Alpine CD changer for my Car as my original was not working. I was also given an adaptor for a standard BMW to alpine adaptor.

I decided to by the Dice DSP adpator, evenm though DIce siad it wa only for ipod. I have successfully fitted it as it converts the Coaxial digital line to the standard output.

Al i had to do was supply 12V power to it connect in the DSP coaxial and the fly lead from the dice box provided the same 6 p point connection as standard.

I will try and post pictures of it when I have more time.

You connectors will be located in the cargo area on the driver's side behind the access panel. There you will see the 3/6 pin connectors.

I completed my dice install with dsp adapter. It took a few hours but nonetheless I have ipod integration and no more cd skipping. Great investment!

The Dice install has been probably the best upgrade on my X. I love it. Now I want to get a little more savy with some other downloads. Like there was a post a few weeks ago about the navi system that you can download different voices and sounds as you go throw the Ipod... Can anybody tell me where I can find this and how to install it on my navi? Thanks...

This depends on the compression of the MP3, higher the bitrate - the better the audio quality. Typically, songs are heard best at 192lbps or higher.

ok lets say between 195 bps and 160 bps is it better or worse?
