I believe that is the pescribed fix from the dealer. Just replace the heating element. My X is out of factory warranty and the heated seats aren't covered in the extended warranty, so I'll have to pay to get it fixed or do it myself.
If you decide to do the repair yourself, post some pics and tech advice on the procedure to help out us noobs so we can save some repair cash. I was quoted the price to fix was about $600. It shouldn't be that difficult. Unplug the wiring harness, pull out the seat, remove the seat cover, remove/replace the element, re-install cover/ seat/ wiring harness. Sound right?:popcorn:
