oil light

Driving home today the oil light flickered when i was at a traffic light. When i would drive it would go away........when i parked the car i got the obc telling me to check engine oil presser.....then to check oil level. I just got an oil change yesterday so i checked the oil level and it is at the halfway mark between min / max.................why would the oil light flicker when i stop but go away when i drive??

Don't know year or model from your post, but assume it is a few years old and has some miles on it.

Low oil pressure will show up first at idle. You can get it checked out at a shop who will use a gauge to determine actual oil pressure at a specific RPM. Your idle speed may be too low, the sender may be faulty, or you may in fact have low oil pressure, generally indicating engine wear.
