steering wheel wobble..................help
 
hi guys ive just changed the wheels on my 2001 x5 sport to rears 315/35/20 and fronts 275/40/20 now ive had the fronts balanced but ive still got a bit of steering wheel wobble any help guys please i had no wobble with my old 19" sport wheels.

The 20's are not balanced correctly or you have a bent rim. If the rim is bent they should have of course found this when balancing. Either way the balance is off on the 20's - go back to the same shop or go somewhere else and have them check it.

Are you're rims hubcentric (do they fit tight on the center of the hub) if not the wheel will wobble like crazy and shake you're teeth out. If not get hubcentric rings.

yes they are mate, they fit the hub great but ive not had the rear wheels balanced just the fronts?????//

I have the same problem, but my wobble is VERY slight. I usually feel it only at lower speeds. I tend to think that it is attributed to the road and bumps in the road. I have the same size 20' rims on my X5. I also feel like it is not a constat thing, but happens occasionally......

I have never had my wheels balanced. Do you think I should??

could do mate,ive got the same problem as you its only very slight between 40mph and 55mph but it should be right i would have thought?

are yours gen bmw wheels?????????
