He's got one. I wouldn't mind having Scott's.

I say go for the extended warranty and keep her. Why buy something just to buy something if there's nothing that you really want.
Besides, you have a 4.8is. Other than members', I think I've only seen one or two 4.8is out there. You're going to be disappointed with the power on the others. They don't growl either :D |

Why not get a 535XI wagon:
1) Cost less 2) Drives better than any SUV |
Why not wait until the new Toureg the R50 model comes out? I just read in Car and Driver that it will have like insane 400+ horse, and 500+ of torque. Since Porche bought them, look out!!!! Audi, VW, are right on BMW's ASS, and I have a feeling that they will be taking the lead very soon. BTW, the R50 is the total package. I mean total, read about it, I was blown away with there product. But, there is just one problem, the freaking price is probably going to be extremely high. :)

Well...
I went and looked at the ML, the GL, and the E70's today. With the exception of the ML63 AMG, they left me pretty uninspired. I'm not really interested in spending that kind of money on an SUV again, so that leaves those out. The GL is huge, and it's like a driving a Suburban, so no to those too.
So...off to the BMW dealer. I *like* the E70s, but for the price, I like my car just as much. To get a nearly equipped E70 as my 4.8is, youi'd be pretty close to 75-80k. So, it looks like the right thing to do is to keep my 4.8is. I guess I need to start looking at warranties, and maybe a few mods are in order ;) |

I don't own an X5(yet) so maybe my point of view may help since I haven't been spoiled by owning an E53(yet!)..
Recently drove an E70 4.8i from the new lot to the CPO lot to drive a 4.8is so I got to drive both back to back... the E70 is very nice, but there is a noticeable size difference. IMO the E53 is perfect in terms of being comfortable in a car-like size whereas the E70 falls into the category of larger SUV's. E70 is really nice, especially with the sport package and 20" wheels, but the E53 feels sportier. E70 interior is nicer since it's more modern but that comes down to personal preference. For me, E53. The only other thing in that segment i'd consider would be a Cayenne/Toureg. I just googled that R50 mentioned above and being based off the same platform, i'd happily sacrifice the Porsche crest for that kind of performance!! |
