I am in Ottawa and the dealer charged me $85 to turn on the daytime running lights. By the way, for the same charge I got them to switch everything from Miles to Km, for example, fuel comsumption, odometer reading, etc.... As your dealer and see if they will do it while they turn on the daytime running lights.
Funny thing, I already ordered the letter and paid the dealer $570 and am still waiting for it. A few days ago I got an email from RIV.ca and attached with it was the inspection form that has to be stamped by Canadian Tire. I ended up taking it to Canadian Tire and got it stamped and was able to register the vehicle on the same day.
I called RIV.ca people to see what is going on because a couple of weeks earlier they sent me an email asking for the recall clearance letter, they informed me that it doesn't show on file that a recall clearance letter is required.
So now the car is registered, I already paid $570 for the recall clearance letter which I won't be needing after all.
