I turn the key and NOTHING
Again. No clicks, no whines, no cranks, nothing. I seem to be on a two month rotation. It happened the end of July, the end of September and I missed the end of November by 2 days.
If it was the alternator, it wouldn't be so sporadic, would it? |
Did the key work when you tried to unlock your vehicle ? I`m thinking that it might be the battery inside the key...
|
can you turn your lights on?
|
It sounds to me like your battery isn't holding a charge well and is gradually running down. It seems a little early if it's the 2005 you're talking about, but it sounds just like my experience last year. I charged the battery up and everything was fine for a while and then it got weaker. I still haven't got around to installing a new battery but I now keep an emergency starter in the car and I have a solar panel to keep the battery charged up. It was -10 centigrade last night and the car was covered in ice under 4 " of snow, there was still enough juice to start it. I know, I'm living on borrowed time.

Try taking the shifter out of park and putting it back into park again. Could be the sensor isn't detecting you have it in park, which would prevent the vehicle from turning over.

What was the issue the two other times? if it did not happen so regularly I would think it is the chip in the key....
|
The key did unlock the door. As far as the previous occassions, the first time they couldn't find anything. They said the battery was fine, they looked but didn't find anything draining it. The alternator was also OK. The last time they changed the battery, so my battery is only 2 months old. I will go check to see if the headlights go on and try the shifter thing.

In my professional opinion  something drained the battery. She is stone cold dead. No lights, no horn, the remote didn't even work this time to open the door.

Probably not going into sleep mode...http://i147.photobucket.com/albums/r...om23/sleep.gif

Sorry L, sounds like you have a short somewhere that is draining the battery!
Good thing it's still under warranty. Time to go yell at the dealer! |
