Over here in Uk we have a company called superships and they will chip a 4.4 v8 for £293 and you get 18bhp extra but no graph to show where it increase and what it does the torque.

I've been trying to be patient and wait for Dinan's engine s/w (since I want to be careful not to void the warranty), but now that I think about it, a Dinan rep that I spoke to told me that their s/w for the '04 and newer probably wouldn't increase the HP/torque any... :dunno: (some story about BMW already getting everything they could out of the N62)

I doubt that. I am certain BMW would not program the pcm at full tilt. It would not make any sense. They need to err on the conservative side and on more fuel economy and reliability. IT would suck for BMW to have the engine operate at its peak and then have a ton of warranty issues arise. The vast majority of owners are not interested in squeezing out every last drop of power from their X5. Hell, on my ls1 corvette I picked up over 20 rwhp on a tune. That is REAR WHEEL not fly.

I called Kelleners a few weeks ago and to my dismay, they don't have a supercharger for the '04s and up. They said that the SC on the website is only up to '03, even though it's under the '04+ link. Also spoke with Dinan and they said that it's highly unlikely that they will have a SC for the '04+ X5s because they said it takes a while to develop a SC for a particular engine, and since the new body style for the X5 is coming out in a year or so, it's not worth it to develop one for the '04+. I have yet to check with Hartge and Hamann, but on the Hamann website, they show a X5 with an engine displacement of 5.2L, producing 412hp (I'm assuming it's the Euro model since their basic 4.4 is 320hp). What I don't understand is how is it that Alpina can get 493hp and 516lb-ft of torque out of a 4.4 (as seen here ) but these tuners can't do it. I can't imagine emission standards between the US and Europe are so different that we can't get a supercharged 4.4 with at least 400hp.

so if i installed the powerchip in my X5 2005 3.0i will i feel the diffrence. i mean now i have it for two months and it feel very heavy with no power i can feel more power in my 1992 325i with 189 horses only :dunno: :mad:

Cause alpina built the engines for bmw so i'm guessing they have have more info bmw's systems and so on.....

They dont make any for the valvetronic engines
