GPS status: Receiver Error ???????
Hey guys, my OEM 16:9 all of the sudden lost. It shows that I am about 10-15 miles away from my house, even though I am parked right next to it. The little window at the top right has no green dots (sattelites). I also tried to disconnect it from the power and reconnect it back in 1 minute, but the issue is still there. I went into the service menu and here it is:
almanac: No Visible: 8 wheel sensor: 0 satelites: 00 GPS status: Receiver Error Gyro: 2500-2503 (Either or) Any ideas? Thanks! |
Software gremlins perhaps. I had similar problems on and off with my 2002 4.4i. About two years ago my GPS took a vacation for about 5 weeks for absolutely no apparent reason. It came back on it's own and has been fine ever since...go figure.

Hi,
I don't own a X5 but have had similar problems on my RR. First if you install a back-up camera under the rear spoiler, it will be close to the GPS antenna and if the camera wires are live, it will disturb the GPS antenna and give a reciever error. My problem was a broken antenna extension cable; when connecting The GPS antenna directly into the MKIV all worked fine. I hope this information could be of some use. Regards |
Dealer changed a navigation computer as well as antenna on mine.
