Fuel Guage Reading 3/4 When Full

I've done a search on this topic and most everyone has a guage that only reads 1/4. I decide to take my 06 CPO on it's first road trip and I encounter my first issue. Once the fuel level reaches 3/4, the guage does function from there to empty. Anybody have a similar problem and an easy fix without going to the dealer. Thanks.

stuck sender. Change to Shell gas and if it gets no better have it changed under CPO. That's what I ended up doing.

Thanks for the info. I already use top tier gas, Texaco mostly, I'll try Shell more often. I just cringe at the thought of bringing it in to a dealer even if it is a covered problem. Tim C

Then how can you say that switching to Shell gas does not correct the problem?

No one stated that if you do not use Shell gas that you will have the problem.

mrbmwx5, with due respect, sometimes i am having a hard time understanding your statement. Like what you post on one of my forsale thread about the roundels magazines i was selling, which i closed because of your comment. What exactly are you saying about this gasoline thingy?

If you search the forum, you will find that switching to Shell gas has fixed this issue for many members, including myself.
